Adrian Hope & Linda Lewin present

A Workshop Weekend

Introduction

Workshop Weekends are 3 day courses during which Linda Lewin and Adrian Hope provide hands on tuition in jewellery making techniques and silversmithing.

We agree with each student before they arrive, what sort of project they would like to take on. A beginner silversmith might say "I'd like to make a christening cup". We would then discuss the possible techniques, make some small decisions maybe order material. Over the 3 days (roughly 24 hours making and tuition) the student is guided through the project.

Another student might be a working silversmith who wants to learn more about raising, hinge making, tool making, planishing or refine some of their own work with the help our expertise.

If you have never made a piece of jewellery before you can start with exercises to gain confidence and skill. More advanced students design their own pieces which make full use of the 3 days and go home with something stunning to wear.

We work in silver and gold. Popular techniques include chain making, stone setting, and granulation.

Our workshop weekend is what each student wants to make it. It is as individual as the student.
